Aside from getting caught up on emails and checking in on sellers that need a price reduction, I had a chance to review my notes from my session with John Maxwell yesterday and I'd like to share some of them with you. Starting with the below...
Notes from John Maxwell High Capacity Leadership Mastermind 11.11.24
The TOP of the TOP never arrive - they never settle. It can always be better and they can always be better. High capacity people realize that there is no finish line because when you cross that line, your best days are officially behind you. High capacity leaders understand that there’s always MORE to accomplish ahead than what they’ve accomplished in the past.
A high road leader does 12 things…
They bring people together, they don’t divide
Value all people, not just the people like them
Acknowledge their own humanness, very in touch with who they are both good and bad
Do the right things for the right reasons. Motives matter
Give more than they take, they are always adding and not subtracting value. They are also not keeping track of who owes them value in return when they do add value.
They develop emotional capacity because they take a high road - the ability to not react or respond negatively or breathe life into negative situations
Place people above their own agenda - they know that the agenda will be accomplished if they pour into their people
Embrace authenticity. They are not perfect but they are real
They are accountable for their actions - They look to see who they could be accountable in all things
They live by a bigger picture - their picture is bigger than what others can see
They don’t keep score - they are running their own race with no competition
Desire the best for others - a genuine desire to want the best for others
While we covered a ton on leadership and had some great discussions, I wanted to get the above out to you because, no matter what your role, I know they can add value to you in your life one way or another.
Tomorrow, I'll share what's on John's current bucket list. I think you'll find it pretty fascinating and until then, let's have an unreal Tuesday!
